Ezio is free to explore 16th century Rome to complete side quests outside of the main story. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is based on a third-person open world with a primary focus on using Ezio and Desmond’s combat skills and stealth to eliminate targets and explore the environment. Intersecting with these historical events are the activities of today’s series protagonist Desmond Miles, who relives the memories of his ancestor, Ezio, to find a way to fight the assassins’ enemies, the Templars, and prevent the apocalypse. The main part of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood takes place immediately after the action of Assassin’s Creed II with the assassin of the 16th century, Ezio Auditore da Firenze in Italy and his quest to restore order among the assassins and destroy his enemies – the family.

The story is set in a fictional story of true events taking place in two time periods, the 16th and 21st centuries. It was later released for Microsoft Windows in March 2011, followed by a version for OS X in May 2011. The game was released worldwide for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 starting on Novemin North America. It is the third installment in the Assassin’s Creed series, the sequel and second installment to Assassin’s Creed II.
